Margaret Stevens
Margaret Stevens is a dedicated educator, activist, parent and veteran. The activist core has underscored every major endeavor in her life, and this includes her period as a Specialist in the U.S. Army National Guard and as a veteran. While enlisted, she organized fellow soldiers around national guard overseas efforts in Latin America when her unit was called up after a mudslide in Honduras, and she leafleted about the history of U.S. military and foreign policy atrocities in Honduras and Latin America in the preceding decades. As a veteran, she joined IVAW and later VFP, publicly addressing the long legacy of minority underrepresentation in the antiwar movement.
