Yadira Perez-Dessaint
Yadira Perez-Dessaint is a member of Military Families Speak Out and the mother of a sergeant who enlisted in the Army Reserves right out of high school after he turned 18. After 12 years of service, he and his unit were part of a normal rotation to Kuwait, when he was caught up in the war started by President Trump in the Middle East. His original mission ended because of the Iran war, but he’s stuck in the Middle East in harm’s way. Yadira is speaking out to end the US war on Iran and for the return of her son and the rest of the US military deployed to the Middle East to pursue this unjustifiable war. Yadira is a Chicana of Purepecha blood from Southern California.
