Mark Friedman is a longtime leader of the Los Angeles Hands-off Cuba Committee, one of the most active, diverse, youthful, and union-supported committees in the U.S. The Committee focuses on forcing Washington to end the 64-year-old U.S. blockade of Cuba and to remove Cuba from its list of State Sponsors of Terrorism. Mark is a member of the International Association of Machinist’s Union and builds labor support for Cuba. He has organized multiple delegations to Cuba for a variety of organizations and has helped to send medical aid to Cuba, working with Global Health Partners and others.
