Gerry Condon

Gerry Condon is a Vietnam-era GI resister and longtime peace and solidarity activist. In 1983-84, Gerry organized the first two veterans’ delegations to revolutionary Nicaragua, which was under attack by the US-backed Contras. He then worked with Brian Willson and the Veterans Peace Action Teams, rebuilding Nicaraguan schools and clinics that had been destroyed by theContras, and he was a co-coordinator of 1988 Veterans Peace Convoy to Nicaragua.  In 2019 and 2025, Gerry led VFP delegations to Nicaragua and reported on the remarkable achievements of the Sandinista revolution. In January 2024, Gerry was part of the crew that sailed the Golden Rule peace boat to Havana, Cuba. In February 2026, Gerry Condon and VFP Vice President Josh Shurley joined a US peace movement delegation to Venezuela to bear witness to the damage done by the January 3 US attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of its president. Gerry serves on the Board of Directors of Veterans For Peace and the Task Force on the Americas.
